The Pinnacle West travel team began as one team that spanned three age groups in 2024. In 2025, our Grand Rapids-based travel program expanded to three teams at the U14, U16, and U19 levels. From its inaugural season, Pinnacle West travel has proudly represented all five school districts that currently offer field hockey in the West Michigan area, supporting our goal of strengthening field hockey on the west side of the state.
We are proud that our Pinnacle West travel athletes have led the way toward that goal, as many of them have been selected as all-state or all-conference honorees on their respective teams. We work closely with and support our athletes to reach their goals of competing at the college level, if desired. Regardless of the level that an athlete chooses to compete at, we are proud of the leaders and young women our athletes grow into, as we strive to help them be the best version of themselves.
How are Pinnacle West travel team athletes selected? Tryouts are typically held in November to select our travel teams for the upcoming year. Our 2026 travel season is expected to run approximately early March – late June/early July.
Travel Opportunities from November – March
Pinnacle West travel athletes interested in play from November to March can opt to play with Pinnacle travel, based out of Ann Arbor.
Given the national recognition of the Pinnacle name by college coaches, the national club team rankings that Pinnacle has earned, and the level of play in the tournaments they compete in, choosing to compete with Pinnacle in the late fall or winter is a wonderful opportunity unique to Pinnacle West travel athletes.
